State Fair – Opening Day September 27, 2008

Met up with Richard and Bob Friday night at the Fair. I made a B-line to the Food Pavilion for some Super Nachos, as expected, the place was packed.  The smell of grease was heavy in the air, I had to eat my nachos outside behind Big Tex.  

I ran into Robert Busch, 2007 Carney of the Year ( in my book ). He acted like he remembered me but I think my short hair threw him off at first.  Robert didn’t have much time to socialize, the new Midway Game Payment System doesn’t seem to be working so good, everyone was scrambling to get their hand-held scanners to function.  We caught the 8:00pm Festival of Lights Parade, I couldn’t take my eyes off this guy who kept waving heavy metal horns at the people on the floats, I guess festival of lights parade = METAL!

Road Trip! September 10, 2008

I rode down to Austin with Robin on Saturday, she had a 1:00pm appointment with Paco Cendon of Electric 13 Tattoos. Angus the Bulldog rode down with us, what a sweetie! Robin volunteers for a Bulldog Rescue in Dallas and Angus needed a ride to his new home in Austin. Best Wishes to Angus!

Flashback 1987 July 16, 2008

I’ve been going through photos from the ’80s for Allison’s birthday party on Saturday night, ran across this one of Regan and I partyin down with Carl K. back in 1987.
Carl was 27 and we were just graduating high school when we met.
Carl was on parole, he never told us why.
Carl got us both our fake ID’s by taking ex-girlfriends out to FREE BEER NIGHT and stealing their driver’s licenses while they were in the bathroom.
Carl took us to a party at a junkyard.
Carl’s roommate had a Python they let roam free in their apartment.
Carl drank Kamikazees.
Carl loved Judas Priest.
The last time Regan saw Carl, he told her, ” YOU TELL KATHY, I DON’T DO DRUGS, I JUST DEAL ‘EM”.
